The world is our mission field, locally and globally.

 

Missions are at the heart of New Life Church and we can’t help but keep it there because it is the whole purpose of the church.
Jesus said very clearly in Mark 16:15-16:

 

“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.”

Local Missions

We support many local missions here in Derby:


Derby City Mission has created debt clinics as well as supporting the homeless, drug addicts, street drinkers and refugees through our Recovery Project drop in and Nightshelter projects. 

Gideon’s International distributes bibles around the globe - and locally here in Derby - and in over 70 languages!

The Hope Centre on Curzon Street, Derby, supporting people in crisis including deprived young people, the elderly, low-income families, children, single parents, destitute refugees and asylum seekers of all faiths and ethnic backgrounds living in poverty.

Jakes is our New Life ministry and is a place where you are welcomed to come in and share a meal with those that are marginalized and are less fortunate than others.

Upbeat Communities is a ministry that provides support to refugees and asylum seekers at different stages of their journeys. 

We work with YWAM missionaries across Derby and also Saturday outreach where we share scripture cards and share God’s love on the streets in our city centre.

Global Missions

Our global missions are spreading God’s love around the world. Starting with the Corradini’s - a family close to our hearts that plant churches in Asturias, Spain and have planted 4 so far.

The Fellowship Ashram Church of India (FACI) is a faith based Christian organisation, which focuses on the holistic transformation of people in India. 

LAMB English Medium School in Bangladesh has a team of staff who have a wide range of skills and abilities - 25 national and 5 full-time foreign teachers within the school. The school serves to educate the children of local staff, foreign workers and non-school staff children from the local area

LMI is an interdenominational evangelical Christian mission organization that was founded in 1977 and serves Bible Teaching Ministry, Overseas Ministry Programme, Youth & Schools Outreach, Mission Awareness Programme

In Venezuela we have Martha Valecilos who has worked with YWAM for 25 years in Venezuela, England, India-Calcutta, and a time in Bangladesh. 

Iris Global share love of God by first addressing the temporal needs of the broken and humble in Mozambique since1995.

In Turkey we have Geoff & Margo who run ‘friendship evangelism’ from the Black Sea to the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts; working in towns and tourist resorts, earning the right to leavea ‘Thank you’ or a ‘Goodbye’ present of an Incil, which has almost always been well received. 

In Nigerial we have our Unwanaoro Christian Missionary Centre, which was started by Margaret Ita and team, which in September 2008 opened in Ekim to offer FREE medical care to the villagers. In 2011 a Maternity Department was opened and thank God, since then, hundreds of babies have been delivered safely. Visit their website by Clicking here.

In Cyprus we have The Praying Church - a huge prayer network covering the whole island of Cyprus and calling people to prayer. 

Mission trips

Our mission trips are designed to make a difference - out there, and in our hearts. Over the last 30 years we’ve given our time, finances and prayer to support many countries and communities, from Kosovo, Spain, India, Nigeria, Poland and many more.

Go events

1000 Smiles evangelistic outreach aims to distribute Christmas gift bags to over1000 different addresses within the Normanton area, plus a further 1000 addresses in areas where our home churches are based.
Within these gift bags we include a New Testament, chocolates and an invitation to our Christmas celebration service.

Our Easter celebration procession takes a float with our musicians around the streets of Normanton followed by our congregation on foot where we worship God and celebrate the resurrection!
